Lacoochee: A Company Town to be feature of
Nov. 14th Meeting of Pasco County Historical Society
The next meeting of the Pasco County Historical Society is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14th at the American Legion Hall, 37745 Church Ave. in Dade City. A newly released DVD, Lacoochee: A Company Town will
be presented by Louie Holt, who with Wilbur Dew, produced the
documentary. David Holt, son of Louie, directed the effort utilizing
archived photos and films from the collections of the late J.T.
McKinstry and Lewis Abraham and the Pioneer Florida Museum and Village.
McKinstry was a long time vice-president of Cummer Sons Cypress Co.
A covered-dish dinner always precedes
the program, so bring something special to share. Also, please bring
your own table-service and drink.
Plan to be there for what will undoubtedly be a very interesting program. Invite a friend. We’d love to have you as a member if you have not already joined. REMINDER: by-laws call for dues payment in November. Family membership is $10 per year, individuals are $5. In other business, Officers for the coming year will be elected during the meeting.
