Pasco Parks

Pasco County has currently 34 County parks, that serve the needs of the residents by providing various amenities from  wilderness camping to meticulous maintained sports fields.  The County is home to three State Canoe Trails: Pithlachascotee River Trail, Hillsborough River State Recreation Trail, and the Withlacoochee River Canoe Trail.   In addition, the County is the southern terminus of the Withalcoochee State Trail, a linear State park.

SWEET STUFF IN THE MAKING

DADE CITY, June 5, 2008/ Do you have a sweet tooth? A pure “pioneer” sweettooth? Visit the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village on Saturday, July 19th as the Southern SyrupMakers Association hosts a seminar workshop starting at 10am. The topic of th workshop will be Maintenance and Repair of Syrup Making Equipment. Practicedsyrup makers will demonstrate the need for proper care of antique and modern syrup making equipment. Members have also agreed to offer limited syrup making demonstrations. In addition, pure sugar cane syrup, produced at the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village will be available for sample and for purchase. The workshop is open to the public for a $10 registration fee which includes lunch. For moreinformation or to register for the workshop call the museum at 352-567-0262.

The Pioneer FloridaMuseum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Florida’s pioneer heritage. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm. General admission is $5 foradults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students ages 6-18 and children 5 and under are free. The museum is located one mile north of downtown Dade City, off of US 301.
