Along with the resurfacing of US301 between Dade City and Lacoochee, the Florida Department of Transportation is creating a sidewalk on both sides of the road along the edge of the right of way.

San Antonio held the official dedication of Pasco County Fire Station 27 on March 14,2013 at 12:30 PM. Local residents attended, along with area dignataries.
The 14th annual Cotee River Seafood and Blues Festival will be held April 26-28 in New Port Richey. Seafood and classic blues will be on the menu for this year's festival. Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, April 26th. Festival guests can enjoy a variety of seafood, from shrimp to alligator.

Investigations of internet cafes in Pasco County and around Florida have been linked to Florida Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll. Florida's lieutenant governor quickly resigned, but 57 other people have been charged amid a $300 million gambling operation masked as a veterans charity internet cafe. Ironically, the investigation efforts started in Tallahassee by Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Sinkholes have been appearing more and more in Central Florida, but Pasco County has been spared to some degree. Years of pumping and ignoring the impact of development and denying the impact of practices that damage our environment have brought some dramatic effects on our environment.Recent sinkhole was involved with swallowing a man within his own home while he was sleeping. Efforts to save the man have been limited. There has been little preparation for this kind of natural disaster.

E-readers, tablets and iPods have become the new "book" and Pasco County Libraries have made changes to meet the requirements to checkout books online. The Pasco Library system have made improvements on its electronic inventory of books, music, foreign language programs and other databases. Many of the library resources can be accessed from your home computer, as long as you have a library membership.

A Dade City man was arrested Friday after authorities say he called a delivery man a racial slur and threatened him with a BB gun in the parking lot of an auto parts store.
Pasco County Sheriff's deputies say the search for a missing endangered Dade City woman ended sadly with the discovery of her body Wednesday afternoon.
